I met Paxton about two years ago at one of my speaking events. I have nothing but positive things to say about him. Since our first meeting, Paxton has attended several more of my programs and events with a strong desire to learn, grow and gain more tools personally, as well to help others. His passion for helping others is exceptional and stands out above and beyond most leaders in whom I have personally come into contact in my 38 years of doing this work.
There is no doubt in my mind that Paxton is an asset to the addiction & recovery community. His willingness to share and use his own story to provide a safe environment for others to feel safe to open up to heal, learn and grow is one of his greatest assets.
Paxton is a spiritual man and brings a good balance in his work by applying solid counseling practices combined with solid spiritual approaches. He has excellent communication skills as well that allow others to connect and feel comfortable with him. I highly recommend Paxton as a competent and skilled addiction counselor.
Overcomer Consulting has been such a huge part in my recovery process. Before, I was floundering in shame and not showing up in life. Paxton’s experience in the field of addiction is vast. He knows how to call out the bs but do it in a loving way that is not judgmental. I had a process to getting heathy that worked. I have used therapists in the past and Paxton is way better! I’m living life now actually happy and full. I’m connected to myself and others and free from addiction. Thank you Paxton!
I admit I was skeptical when I got started; counseling and self improvement has been a very disappointing pursuit for me. But Paxton has a way of drawing you out of past mindsets and behaviors in a gentle and encouraging way. He sees past the surface and helps you grow into who you were made to be.
I have worked extensively with Paxton Merrill in the capacity of Pastoral counseling. I have always observed him to be extremely perceptive and skilled to identify the real needs people have that are causing them difficulty. He then has an incredible ability to formulate plans for individuals to move forward and break through the walls that have kept them trapped sometimes for years. I have personally had the joy to facilitate care in situations with Paxton, where I have seen life lasting freedom in the lives of numerous people.
